Morning

Bananas 70c

Middle aged Aboriginal man sits facing the wall, alternates loudly strumming 3 or 4 chords on 12-string acoustic guitar with playing a didgeridoo and hitting sticks.

"The Tide is High" - the DVD guy. Cheery "Good morning" to a passing commuter.

Afternoon

Young woman on the fiddle, playing Irish music.

Police having earnest discussion with young man with a clarinet sticking out of his backpack.

I note that only the asian and and black buskers are described by race. Not very pc.

I've been conscious of this as a bit of a problem as I've been posting. It'd read oddly to have "anglo" or "caucasian" in every 2nd entry, but it's true that without them it seems like I'm treating race as "exceptions", pointing out "others". Part of what I want to describe is the variety of songs, styles, instruments, voices, ages, races - that's what's interesting to me; I don't want to leave out ethnicity. Hmm, bit of a bind, needs some thought.
